Together with their parents, Melissa Gail Carpenter and James Ryan Scarberry, both of Kenna, announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jeffrey and Sandra Carpenter of Washington. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Dorothy Nickell of Summerville, S.C., and Richard and Marcia Carpenter, both of Lewisburg. She is a 2005 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Charleston with a bachelor's degree in radiologic science. She is employed at CAMC Memorial Hospital as a radiologic technologist.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of James and Betty Jo Scarberry of Kenna. He is the grandson of Dorean Anderson of Kenna and the late Johnnie C. Anderson. He is a 2005 graduate of Ripley High School. He is employed by BBU Services of West Virginia. A wedding is planned for Nov. 11 at Harmony Baptist Church in Parkersburg.
