Michael and Kathia Halbert will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 6.
He is the son of Robert E. Halbert and the late Geraldine Halbert. He was self-employed for 21 years in the service station business and retired from One Valley Bank.
She is the daughter of the late Jewell Moore and Evalena Moore.

The couple has a daughter, Melissa (Dan) Inman of Parkersburg; a son, Douglas (Malyssa) Halbert of Roanoke, Va.; and five grandchildren, Ashley and Anna Oman, Alex Inman, Tyler Jewell Halbert and Morgan Boitnott.
A family gathering is planned for May 7.
