PARKERSBURG - Throughout the years West Virginia University at Parkersburg has gone through its share of names and leaders.
From 1961-66 the college was known as the Parkersburg Branch of West Virginia University. In 1966 the college became West Virginia University-Parkersburg Center. In 1971 the name changed to Parkersburg Community College.
In 1989 it became West Virginia University at Parkersburg, a name it has held through the present day.
