Mary June Hutcheson Wagner, 94, formerly of Marietta and more recently a resident of Apppletree in Beverly, passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 6, 2011 at Marietta Memorial Hospital with family by her side.
She was born June 23, 1916 in Dexter City, Ohio to Edna McClure Hutcheson and Clyde E. Hutcheson. She graduated from Dexter City High School in 1934. June married Donald R. Wagner Sept. 20, 1936 in Cambridge, Ohio. They were married 68 years and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2005.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of Norwood United Methodist Church for over 60 years and served as President of the United Methodist Women until her death. She also held various offices in the church. Mrs. Wagner sang in the church choir for many years. Family was very important to June, and she also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandsons. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Elliott and her husband, Ronald of Beverly, Ohio, and Annita Crawford and her husband Richard of Pittsburgh, Pa.; five grandchildren, Michael Elliott and his wife, Stacy, of Marietta, Pamela Elliott of Poland, Ohio, Karen Pagano and her husband, Mark of Pittsburgh, Kenneth Crawford and his wife Amber of Pittsburgh, and Robert Crawford of Pittsburgh; four great-grandchildren, Patrick and Andrew Elliott of Marietta, and Christopher and Ryan Pagano of Pittsburgh; and one brother, William E. Hutcheson of Cincinnati. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, Ohio. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at Norwood United Methodist Church, 23 Colegate Dr., Marietta. Memorials may be made to Norwood United Methodist Church.
