Roger L. Lapeer

Roger L. Lapeer, 70, of Lost Creek, W.Va. departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, W.Va.

He was born in Clarksburg, W.Va. on Sept. 8, 1940, a son of the late Chester Lapeer and Stella (Bisczad) Lapeer.

Twice married and preceded in death by his first wife Gail Ann (Hannah) Lapeer and is survived by his second wife, Darlene (Raines) Lapeer.

Also surviving are five children, Theresa Lapeer, Woodbine, Md., Heather Lapeer Mendoza, Parkersburg, Susan Lapeer Savina, West Milford, W.Va., Roger C. Lapeer, Fairmont, W.Va. and Joy Lapeer Brobeck, Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Christine Lapeer Kniska Ward, Lewes, Del. and Marion Lapeer Kniska, Potomac, Md., and seven grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lapeer.

Mr. Lapeer was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Clarksburg. Mr. Lapeer loved fishing and being with his grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood with the Rev. D. Kent Durig as celebrant.

A Vigil Service will be held 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
