John W. Starcher, 39, of Elizabeth, W.Va., passed away Aug. 8, 2010.
He was the son of the late Jesse and Bethel Starcher.
He was a 1990 graduate of Wirt County High School, and was employed by the Wirt County Board of Education for 10 years.
He was an active member of the Elizabeth Volunteer Fire Department for 13 years. John was an antique car enthusiast, enjoyed restoring, and car shows.
He loved riding his motor bike and spending time with his friends and family.
John is survived by his two sisters Andra Kelley of Parkersburg and Lori Starcher of Elizabeth; one brother, Duke Starcher of Florida; nieces and nephews, Justin Starcher of Parkersburg, Andrew Starcher II of Baltimore, Md. Jessica Starcher of Elizabeth, Kenton Turner of Elizabeth, Jessie Starcher of Tennessee, Christopher Starcher of Florida, and John Nelson of Florida, and two very special friends that he loved like a mother and father, Larry and Carole Menefee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Andrew "Butch"
Starcher. Services will be Thursday, 11 a.m. at the Elizabeth Vol. Fire Department.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-9 p.m at the Elizabeth Vol. Fire Department. Interment will be at Merrill Chapel Cemetery.
