Kaylee Garnet Miihlbach, 5, of Ravenswood, passed away at home, June 5, 2010, following a courageous battle against brain cancer.

She was born on June 21, 2004, in Parkersburg, the beloved daughter of Kevin and Alisha (Conley) Miihlbach. Kaylee's winning smile and outgoing personality touched the hearts and lives of many people. Kaylee attended Mrs. Jana Tabor's pre-school class the past three years at Henry J. Kaiser Elementary School in Ravenswood. She was selected as "Student of the Month" three times. She attended the Grace Community Church at Fairplain with her family and loved to sing with the youth group. Her favorite song was "I want to be a sheep."

She participated in Vacation Bible School, church camp and other special programs at church. Kaylee's favorite color was purple and she loved to look at picture books and have stories read to her. Kaylee had been a flower girl in the weddings of her aunts, Jessica and Malinda, and also for her cousin, Anita. The "Make-a-Wish" Foundation provided a trip to Disney World for Kaylee and her parents in 2007.

In addition to her parents, Kaylee is survived by a younger brother, Kevin Wayne "K.W." Miihlbach II; and grandparents, Rex, Jr. and Carolyn Miihlbach of Ravenswood; Doug and Cindy Tidd of Ravenswood; and Randy and Kathy Conley of Belpre. Surviving great-grandparents include: Lionel and Garnet Thomas of Sandyville; Carolyn Stalnaker of Parkersburg, and Bob and Barbara Conley of Parkersburg. Surviving great-great-grandmother is Lou Lehew of Parkersburg. Kaylee is also survived by one uncle and three aunts: Rex "Alex" Miihlbach III and his wife Michala of Taylor, Neb.; Malinda Cooper and her husband Stephen of Ravenswood; Mary Gandee and husband Jason of Ravenswood, and Jessica Bergdorf and her husband Derrick of Ravenswood. Kaylee's first cousins are Brooke Tidd and Ashton Gandee.

The family would like to thank everyone who has provided support and assistance during the past several weeks along with those who also helped during the prior occurrence of tumors in the spring of 2005 and the fall of 2006. Most of all, Kevin and Alisha appreciates the love, concern and prayers of family, friends and members of the community. A special thank-you goes to Rev. Tim Parsons and Rev. Kevin Jennings and the members of the Grace Community Church family.

Services will be held today, 11 a.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Rev. Tim Parsons and Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery at Sandyville.
