Clinton H. ‘Sonny’ Dotson

Clinton H. "Sonny" Dotson, 72, of Parkersburg, passed away March 8, 2010, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

He was born April 4, 1937, in Petroleum, W.Va., a son of the late Burl and Stella Varner Dotson. He was retired from Yellow Freight (Teamsters Union 175 and 505) and was a member of Good Shepherd Church. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 172 (Vienna), Scottish Rites, and Ben Bey Grotto.

He is survived by two sons, Gregory H. (Sherry) Dotson of Williamstown and Timothy S. (Brenda) Dotson of St. Marys; one daughter, Julie Moat (Dave Pottmeyer) of Fleming, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Gregory Dotson Jr., Rebecca Collins, Amy Childers, Ashley Steele, and Robert, Thomas, Amanda and Angie Moat; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Patrick (Jesse) Dotson of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ann Dotson, mother of his children; his second wife, Susan Dotson; one sister, Barbara Kelley; one brother, Mike Dotson; and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Masonic Rites by Lodge 172. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
