Harold L. Moore, Jr.February 9, 2010Harold Lee "Harry" Moore, Jr., 53, of Harrisville, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, after an extended battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 2, 1956, at Huntington, a son of Clemmie Shepard and the late Harold Lee Moore, Sr. He graduated from Big Walnut High School, Sunbury, Ohio, and attended college at Marshall University, West Virginia State College, Huntington Junior College, and the Community College of the Air Force. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, and had worked for CSX Railroad, and also a journeyman electrician in several states. He was wonderfully creative with art and poetry, loved to sing and play music, wildlife, pets of all kinds, and had a great sense of humor. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and exploring life's mysteries. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Moats Moore, Harrisville; two children from previous marriages, Emily Porter, Charleston, and Eddie Moore, Burbank, Calif.; his mother, Clemmie Shepard, Proctorville, Ohio; siblings, Tina White, Proctorville, Charles "Chuck" Shepard II, of Georgia, Cathy Arrowood, Chesapeake, Ohio, and Jeffrey Shepard, Proctorville; nieces and nephews, Katie Freimuth, Dustin Zeuner, Corey Noel, Chaz "Slickster" Steele, Dakota Shepard and Brandon Shepard; also surviving are numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother, Joseph Allen Moore. A celebration of life service will be held at New Hope Methodist Church, Proctorville, Ohio, on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 2:30 p.m. Memorial donations are requested to the Ritchie County Humane Society Building Fund, RR 1 Box 3, Harrisville, W.Va. 26362, to assist efforts to replace the cat shelter which recently burned. |
