Ravenswood 58,

Tyler Consolidated 38

KIDWELL - Tyler Consolidated shot its only two free throws with a second left in the game and Ravenswood used a 24-9 posting in the fourth quarter to improve to 5-0 here Saturday with a 58-38 win against the host Silver Knights.

Ryan Benson pumped in a game-high 19 points while Luke Murray had 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Red Devils, who entertain Parkersburg Catholic on Tuesday. Zach Martin contributed nine points for RHS, which canned 17-of-21 from the charity stripe.

The Silver Knights (0-7), set to return to action with a home game Monday versus Doddridge County, were paced by Alex Jones with 14 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Corey Lowe added eight points in the setback.

Waterford 56,

Paden City 42

MARIETTA - Paden City never recovered from a 15-5 deficit after the first stanza on Saturday at Ban Johnson Arena as the Wildcats dropped to 0-4 following a 56-42 setback to the Waterford Wildcats.

The victorious Wildcats (1-5) shot nearly 50 percent from the floor and was led by Levi Porter with 17 points and eight rebounds. Levi McCutcheon added 10 points in the victory.

Paden City was led in point production by Malakai Anderson with 14 and Zach Yost with 10.

Bishop Rosecrans 65, Marietta 38

MARIETTA - Bishop Rosecrans (4-3) exploded for a 41-14 advantage at intermission on Saturday inside Ban Johnson Arena and cruised to a 65-38 victory against Marietta in the Wendy's Ohio River Classic.

Bishop Rosecrans (4-3) placed a quartet of players in double figures, which including getting 16 points from Jacob Phillips and 14 more by Zak Kirkbride.

Cody Kreichbaum's dozen counters led Marietta (2-5).

Spring Valley 62,

Parkersburg 52

KENOVA -Spring Valley jumped out to a 21-8 first quarter lead here Saturday night over visiting Parkersburg and held off the Big Reds, 62-52, in a Mountain State Athletic Conference game.

Parkersburg (2-2) chipped away at the lead, cutting it to just two points entering the final period. Andy Dollman led the Big Reds with 18 points while Devin Hoehn had 16 for PHS. Spring Valley got 15 points from Zach Robateau, 13 from JT Nelson and 11 from George Brody.

PHS travels to South Charleston on Monday.

Charleston Catholic 58,

Gilmer County 42

CHARLESTON - Gilmer County never recovered from a scoreless first quarter in falling to host Charlrston Catholic, 58-42, Saturday night.

Gilmer (3-1) was led by Cody James with 13 points and six rebounds, and Joel Roberts with 11 points, while Catholic was paced by Seth Ritchie with 15 points, six assists and four steals.

St. Marys 46,

Charleston Catholic 31

CHARLESTON -St. Marys remained unbeaten here Saturday evening, downing Charleston Catholic, 46-31, in the Capital Showcase.

Sara O'Neal led the Blue Devils (5-0) with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Kelsea Fickiesen, fighting off the flu, added 10 points.

Charleston Catholic (2-3) got 10 points from Capen Evans.

The Blue Devils travel to Tyler on Tuesday.

Marietta 77,

Federal Hocking 34

MARIETTA - Marietta, which led 21-4 after the first quarter, was never challenged early Saturday morning at Ban Johnson Arena as the Tigers roared to a 77-34 blowout of Federal Hocking in the opening game of the Wendy's Ohio River Classic.

LeAnne Ross bucketed a game-high 23 points for the now 7-1 Tigers, who also got eight markers apiece from Paige Lamb and Mary Beth Schramm.

Waterford 63,

River View 28

MARIETTA - Waterford raced out to a 31-8 halftime lead and rolled to a 63-28 victory against River View here Saturday at Ban Johnson Arena during the Wendy's Ohio River Classic.

Sina King led the Wildcats (4-2) with a game-high 22 points while teammates Emily Brown and Kim Barker chipped in 12 and 10 counters, respectively. Brown grabbed nine boards.

Ravenswood 44, Williamstown 38

RAVENSWOOD - Williamstown's Shila Allman scored a game-high 19 points, but host Ravenswood handed the Yellowjackets a 44-38 defeat Saturday night.

The Red Devils, 5-1, got 14 points, seven blocks and six rebounds from Hannah Murray, and 12 points, six steals and three assists from Emily Rector in the win.

Next games find Parkersburg Catholic at Williamstown Wednesday, and Ravenswood at Roane County Thursday,
