Stephan Burchett
Stephan "Craig" Burchett II, 41, of Murraysville, W.Va., passed away Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2009, in Meigs County, Ohio, from injuries sustained from an auto accident.
He was born to the late Stephan "Steve" Craig Burchett Sr. and Treva Cutright of Ripley. He is the maternal grandson of the late Rosa and Late Tallman of Leroy, W.Va., and paternal grandson of Mildred and Nelson Burchett of Clearwater, Fla.
Craig was a 1987 graduate of Ripley High School. Craig was married to his best friend and true love of his life, Stacy, on Aug. 15, 2003, at Praise Cathedral Church of Ravenswood.
Craig is a member of the Church of Christ of Sandyville, W.Va., and an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a successful businessman, where he excelled as the general manager at the Quaker Steak and Lube in Charleston, W.Va. Craig was an avid golfer as well as trained in karate where he competed in numerous competitions. He was an active member with the Ravenswood Youth Sports, where he coached both soccer and basketball.
He was passionate about the sports he coached and making a lasting difference in the lives of not only his own children and family but those who he coached. Craig enjoyed numerous activities as long as they included his family. He was known as a great husband, father, son, brother, friend and coach. Craig touched many people through his passion for life and never knew a stranger and everyone who knew him wore a smile.
He is preceded in death by his father, Stephan "Steve" Burchett Sr., and a daughter, Ashley. Those left behind to honor his memory include his wife and soul mate, Stacy; sons, Cole and Chase; daughters, Amanda, Sammi, Claudia and Marina, all at home; his mother and stepfather, Treva and George Cutright of Ripley; father-in-law, Everett Crow Jr. of Ravenswood; mother-in-law, Nancy Phillips of Ravenswood; sister, Tina; brother-in-law, Michael Baldwin of Evans; nephews, Shae, Ben and Clayton; nieces, Ashley and Megan Skeen; and great-niece, Adalynne.
Friends will be received from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Praise Cathedral Church of Ravenswood with burial to follow in Ravenswood Cemetery.
