WEST UNION - Williamstown shot a sizzling 61 percent (22 of 36) from the floor for the game Thursday night as the visiting Yellowjackets nipped Doddridge County 52-49.
Williamstown, now 2-0 on the young season, got 18 points and eight rebounds from David Huggins, and 17 points from Michael Badgley.
Doddridge, now 0-2, was led by Tim Curtis with 13 points and 11 each from Nick Mires and Landry Marrs.
Corey Hinterer had 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals for Doddridge.
Williamstown hosts Sissonville Tuesday while Doddridge is at Notre Dame at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Ripley 61,
Hurricane 50
RIPLEY - Thanks in part to a game-high 27 points from Alannah Sheets, host Ripley improved to 2-2 here Thursday night via a 61-50 victory against Hurricane.
Viking Samantha Hatcher added 10 points and Taylor Wilson chipped in nine counters and a baker's dozen caroms.
The Redskins (4-2) were paced by Allie Browne's 17 points. Skye Smith scored 13 and Morgan Garett 10 in the losing effort.
Magnolia 60,
Ritchie County 53
NEW MARTINSVILLE - Padyn Ludewig tallied 23 points and Marissa Bosley netted 20 as Magnolia clipped visiting Ritchie County 60-53 Thursday night.
Ritchie (2-2) was paced by Leandra Villers with 24 points and Brittnay Spencer with 14.
Magnolia (2-3) also got 11 rebounds from Bosley, while Villers grabbed 14 caroms for Ritchie.
Magnolia hosts Parkersburg Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Paden City 58,
Hundred 52
PADEN CITY - Ali Bertozzi scored 21 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and had four steals as Paden City bested visiting Hundred 58-52 Thursday night for the Wildcats (1-4) first win of the season.
Megan Cutlip added 17 points for PC, which plays at Beallsville Dec. 28.
Vinton County 65,
Belpre 52
McARTHUR -Tori Dixon scored a game-high 22 points as Vinton County defeated Belpre 65-52 on Thursday night.
Belpre trailed 50-42 and cut the deficit to as few as six points in the fourth quarter before Vinton County pulled away.
Brandi Fitch led the Golden Eagles (1-4) with 20 points, while Regina Leftwich pulled down 16 rebounds.
