Belpre Festival of Lights parade set for Saturday

BELPRE - The annual Festival of Lights Parade, sponsored by the festival lights committee and organized by the Belpre Lions Club, is 6 p.m. Saturday.
The parade will form at Belpre High School. Parade units must be illuminated with Christmas lights.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the last float sponsored by the Pioneer Antique Power Association. Santa Claus also will be available for children after the parade at the bandstand in Civitan Park.
Among other parades, the Marietta Christmas Parade is 1 p.m. Saturday.
The annual Beverly-Waterford Christmas Parade and Dodge Park lighting ceremony will be held Sunday. The parade will form at 4:30 p.m. at the Waterford High School parking lot and will start at 5:30 p.m. From Main Street to Ohio 339 to Beverly, the parade will end at Dodge Park where the lighting ceremony will be held immediately after the parade.
The Vienna and Parkersburg Christmas parades are Dec. 12.
The annual lighting of the Christmas message at Parkersburg High School is 6 p.m. Thursday. The annual ceremony includes performances by the choirs.
The 2009 lighting ceremony at Parkersburg South High School is 6 p.m. Dec. 7. The South Concert Choir will perform in the school auditorium as part of the ceremony.
The 21st annual Belpre Holiday Lights Festival commenced Wednesday with the lighting of the displays in Howes Grove, River Access and Civitan parks. The lights will be up until Jan. 2 and among the new displays is a 12-by-36 foot animated display from Leavitt's of Belpre and the emblem of the Mid-Ohio Valley Wide Trackers Car Club.
