PARKERSBURG - Dr. David Hall has combined his two loves - chiropractic and training - into the aptly-named Hall of Fame Chiropractic Sports Performance and Training Center, which opened Nov. 2 at 416 37th St. in Parkersburg.
Hall's 17-year "dream to put these two together" came to fruition two weeks ago with the opening of the 7,500-square-foot facility.
"I always thought this would be fantastic, where people could come in to keep their body aligned and keep the nervous system strong, and then learn to exercise properly," he said.
The new building, replacing the existing nearby smaller venue, features a 50-yard track, 30-yard turf surface, weight training center and other exercise equipment along with a staff of sports performance coaches - headed by Al Johnson - to help with instruction and encouragement for those working out.
"We look at this as a one-stop shop," said Hall, who has his chiropractic office in a portion of the new facility. "This is for everybody from (age) 8 on up to improve their performance in most any activity - that's what it's all about. Al and his staff can devise training sessions that can make people better than what they are - by giving them the confidence and the tools they need to succeed, whether it's to be faster, stronger or just better at their particular activity."
Hall and Johnson, both Parkersburg natives, are also "doing a lot with businesses and area sports teams, outsourcing our coaches to demonstrate proper training and exercise techniques," said Hall.
When spring arrives, there will be an outdoor field and a training hill behind the facility and Johnson has conducted several free combines "to let Al and his staff teach kids things that can help them in their sport, whether it's youth soccer, baseball, basketball or whatever."

Hat's off to Hall and Johnson. They had a vision and with hard work they created it. This facility is going to be a tremendous asset to our community. Thumbs WAY up!
