Donald E. Mossor

Donald E. Mossor, 73, of Harrisville, W.Va., departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at his residence.

Don was born Oct. 18, 1935, on Lynn Camp Road near Pennsboro, W.Va., a son to the late James and Mae Propst Mossor. He was employed in the garment industry all of his life, starting at Myles Manufacturing in Harrisville. Throughout his employment, he worked in the Laura Mae and United Manufacturing plants, where he served in every position. In later years, he was the owner and manager of the Safety Stitch garment factory in Harrisville. Don was a faithful Harrisville booster, a pop-warner football coach and helped the children of the community to have a baseball field beside his factory. Don was a Christian by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Roena Kuhn Mossor; daughter, Vickie D. Nutter of Ellenboro, W.Va.; son, Mark E. Mossor (Dotty) of Harrisville; brother, Leonard (Glen) Mossor of Columbus, Ga.; grandchildren, Jason, Jessica (Kenneth), Jennifer (Kevin), Amber, Tyler and Audrey; and great-grandchildren, Hayleah, Taylor and Sydney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Thomas, Roy, Delbert and Charles Mossor; and sisters, Kathryn Walters, Lee Moats and Mary Farnsworth.

Funeral services for Don will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Pastor Robert Perine and the Rev. John Frum officiating. Interment will follow in the Harrisville IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
