Jerry L. Lemley, 58, of Parkersburg passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

He was born Sept. 4, 1950, in Parkersburg, a son of Carl and Elizabeth Reebel Lemley of Parkersburg.

Jerry graduated from Williamstown High School and had worked for Viscose, Williamstown Steel and for the last 25 years, for Thermo Fisher Scientific of Marietta.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, racing, traveling and time with his family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Roberta Stobart Lemley; daughter, Adrienne Prince of Little Hocking; sons, Benny and his wife, Chrissy, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, and Jeremy and wife, Shelena, of Parkersburg; granddaughter, "Papaw's pride and joy," Kailynn; brother, Rick Lemley and wife, Debbie; sisters, Jeannene Rowley and Nancy Lemley, all of Parkersburg; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend of 40 years, Richard Hooper of Parkersburg.

Jerry was preceded in death by a wonderful friend, Gracie Houchen.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Mark Zimmer officiating. Burial will be at the Harper Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
