LUBECK- Four people were taken to local hospitals after a three-vehicle accident on West Virginia 68 near the South Fork of Lee Creek.

Wood County Deputy Sheriff G.M. Deem said the cause of the accident is still under investigation. He said the accident occurred at about 9 a.m. Thursday.

Deem said a southbound 1997 International truck carrying a trailer with a bulldozer driven by Marc Taylor, 34, Wooster, Ohio, was struck by a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Heather Davisson 32, of Ravenswood.

Another northbound vehicle, a 1998 Subaru Legacy driven by Michelle Clay, 27, of Cottageville, was struck by debris from the truck and came to a stop more than 114 feet from the roadway, Deem said. He said Clay had a passenger, Sue Clay, 57, of Ravenswood.

The Clays were treated and released from Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, said a nursing supervisor. Taylor was treated and released from St. Joseph's Hospital. Davisson was listed in stable condition at St. Joseph's Hospital Thursday night.

Mike Poole, deputy chief of Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department, said a volunteer firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion. He said volunteers worked for an hour and 45 minutes to remove Davisson from the vehicle. They were assisted by units from the Blennerhassett and Washington Bottom volunteer fire departments.

What a miracle everyone is alive. I hope Ms. Davisson pulls through OK. Prayers to all involved. Rt 68 has always been a dangerous road. The speed people go is unreal and not even close to the 'limit'. Becareful on your drive, it may be your last.
