Authorities identify accused killer

McCONNELSVILLE - Authorities in Morgan County this morning released the name of a juvenile charged with the murder of a Malta woman.
Travis Lee Fischer, age 17, of McConnelsville, has been arrested and charged with causing the death of Abi Matthews, 35, on June 2, Prosecutor Mark Howdyshell said. The suspect's identity had not been disclosed since he was taken into custody earlier this week.
Matthews, a college student and mother of three, was found dead on the floor of her apartment at 40 Third St. in Malta Tuesday afternoon. The victim and the accused apparently knew each other, according to Howdyshell.
Fischer faces aggravated murder charges and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled 10 a.m. June 10 before Juvenile Court Judge Dan W. Favreau, at which time the state must prove the age of the accused and present evidence that there is probable cause he committed the murder.
If the court finds Fischer was 16 or 17 at the time of the act and probable cause to believe he did it, Fischer will be treated as an adult.
The investigation of the murder is continuing and it is anticipated that additional charges will be presented to the Morgan County Grand Jury after jurisdiction over the accused is transferred to the Common Pleas Court.
Fischer is currently being held in the Muskingum County Juvenile Detention facility.

I would venture to say that the accessories were left on when the picture was taken in an effort to solicit an unfavorable response from the readers and you did not let them down. If the jewelry was gone all you would see would be one really scared kid, and rightfully so.

reading the article will give the answer to the gender question. "If the court finds Fischer was 16 or 17 at the time of the act and probable cause to believe he did it, Fischer will be treated as an adult." i don't think there's really anything that unusual about the way the guy looks anyway - he's got the garden variety gangster-thug bling thing going on and he doesn't have much facial hair because he's a kid.
