Banales indicted in death
Accused of setting fire to mother’s homePARKERSBURG - A man accused of killing his mother by setting fire to her home in December was indicted on murder and first-degree arson charges Thursday by Wood County grand jury.
George M. Banales, 29, in custody at North Central Regional Jail, was charged with the Dec. 17 murder of Rebecca Banales, 52, of 78 Herning Lane, Parkersburg.
Banales, who lived with his mother, started the fire after she told him he had to get out on his own because she could no longer take care of him, a criminal complaint filed in Wood County Magistrate Court said.
