Moore set for April trial for child porn
By JEFFREY SAULTON , jsaulton@newsandsentinel.comPARKERSBURG - Trial was set for April in the case of a former Wood County Board of Education computer technician indicted on child pornography possession charges.
Lonnie Moore, 45, Parkersburg, was indicted on 30 counts of possessing material depicting a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and one count each of incest, third-degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by a custodian from September 2008.
In his arraignment Friday before Wood County Circuit Judge Robert Waters, Moore pleaded innocent to the 33-count indictment. Waters set the trial for April 28.
According to police reports, police were contacted by a family member after finding images depicting children in sexual acts on computers borrowed from Moore. Investigators seized several computers from Moore's home and found alleged child pornography, police said.
Other arraignments before Waters were:
- Edward Bailey, 24, 502 Barkley St., Parkersburg, was indicted on two counts of burglary and one count of petit larceny from April 2008. He entered an innocent plea and his trial was set for April 28, case No. 4.
- Matthew Douglas Beegle, 45, Route 1, Box 268F, Ripley, was indicted on a charge of fleeing from an officer in a vehicle while intoxicated from February 2008. He entered an innocent plea and his trial was set for March 10, case No. 3.
- Kenneth Paul Bell, 19, 4805 Fourth Ave., Parkersburg, Bruce Leon Bumgarner II, 22, in the North Central Regional Jail, Greenwood, Elizabeth Bumgarner, 20, 1207 Paden St., Parkersburg, and Matthew Carl Fordyce, 19, 5242 Elizabeth Pike, Elizabeth, were named as codefendants.
Bell was indicted on charges of 12 counts of burglary, one count of conspiracy to commit burglary, two counts of grand larceny, and one count each of conspiracy to commit grand larceny and transferring stolen property. The Bumgarners were charged with grand larceny and nine counts of burglary. Fordyce was charged with three counts of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny. The charges against Bell and Fordyce were from February and August 2008 and the Bumgarners were from August 2008. They answered the indictments with pleas of innocent. Bell and Bruce Bumgarner were set for an April 22 trial date, case No. 1. Arraignments for Elizabeth Bumgarner and Fordyce were continued to Jan. 26.
- Jeffrey Joseph Brown, 26, 915 Front St., Marietta, was indicted on charges of malicious assault and attempted murder from October 2007. He entered an innocent plea and his trial was set for March 24, case No. 1.
- James Andrew Cheatham, 42, 2290 Forest Lane, Arnold, Mo., was indicted on charges of fleeing from an officer in a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance from April 2008. His arraignment was continued to a later date.
- Eric Cullum, 44, 250 Marie Lane, Washington, W.Va., was indicted on charges of third-offense driving under the influence of alcohol, third-offense driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and driving while license revoked for driving under the influence of alcohol from May 2008. He entered an innocent plea and his trial was set for March 10, case No. 4.
- Cameron Andrew Fisher, 30, 477 Burnthill Road, Williamstown, was indicted on charges of malicious assault and domestic battery from April 2008. He answered the indictment with an innocent plea and his trial date was set for April 7, case No. 2.
- Sylvain Ashley, 36, and Bobbi Ann Hopson-Hardgrove, both lodged in the North Central Regional Jail, Greenwood, were indicted on one count each of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. Hopson-Hardgrove was also indicted on a count of malicious assault, all from June 2008. They entered pleas of innocent and their trial date was set for April 7, case No. 3.
- Raymond Berry Jarvis, 45, lodged in the North Central Regional Jail, Greenwood, was indicted on charges of fleeing from an officer in a vehicle while intoxicated, third-offense DUI and second-offense driving while license revoked for DUI from October 2008. He entered an innocent plea and his trial was set for March 24, case No. 2.
- Gary Willison Lockhart Sr., 59, 6647 Deerwalk Highway, Walker, was indicted on three counts each of third-degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by a custodian from September 2008 and November 2008. He pleaded innocent to the indictment and his trial date was set for April 28, case No. 1.
- Christina Dawn Mackey, 30, 1013 18th Ave., Apt. B, Vienna, was indicted on two counts each of child abuse creating risk of injury and child neglect creating risk of injury from December 2007. She entered a plea of innocent and her trial date was set for April 22, case No. 2.
- George Eglitis, also known as Horace Duckett, 32, 1327 1/2 Covert St., Parkersburg, Lewis Warren Smarr Jr., 27, 3307 Second Ave., Parkersburg, and Courtney E. Kesterson, 18, 1705 St. Marys Ave., Apt. 3, Parkersburg, were named as codefendants charging them with breaking and entering, entering without breaking, grand larceny and conspiracy to commit an unlawful entry from March 2008. They entered pleas of innocent and their trial dates were set for April 22, case No. 3.
- Jason Allen Tinnel, 32, 423 Washington Drive, Mineral Wells, was indicted on two counts of child abuse resulting in injury and one count of presentation for false information regarding a child's injuries from December 2007. His arraignment was continued to Jan. 26.
- Amber Ward, 24, 100 W. Eighth St., Williamstown, was indicted on two counts of third-degree sexual assault from September 2007 and May 2008. A plea of innocent was entered and her trial date was set for April 28, case No. 3.
- James Woodrow Wilson, 82, 2306 36th St., Parkersburg was indicted on charges of first-degree sexual abuse, sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust in relation to a child and incest from July 2008. He pleaded innocent and a trial was set for April 7, case No. 4.
Arraignments before Circuit Judge Jeffrey Reed were:
- Amanda Marie Anderson, 25, 2813 Sawyer St., Apt. 3, Parkersburg, was indicted on six counts of forgery and five counts of uttering from February 2008. Her arraignment was continued to 9 a.m. Jan. 30.
- Jonathan Barnhart, 29, Maggie Barnhart, 26, both lodged in the North Central Regional Jail, Greenwood, and Danielle Kuhens, 30, 2801 Emerson Ave., Apt. 21, Parkersburg, were named as codefendants.
Jonathan Barnhart was indicted on two counts of delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, three counts of conspiracy to commit delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Maggie Barnhart was indicted on one count of delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, three counts of conspiracy to commit delivery of a controlled substance and transporting a controlled substance into the state. Kuhens was indicted on charges of transporting a controlled substance into the state and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, all from September 2008. They entered innocent pleas and an April 28 trial date was set.
- Dwayne Edward Brooks, 24, 1130 24th St., Parkersburg, was indicted on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver from March 2008. He pleaded innocent to the indictment and an April 7 trial date was scheduled.
- Scott Joseph Byers, 25, 33 Meadowbrook Acres, Parkersburg, was indicted on two counts of failure to provide notice of registration changes from October 2007. He entered an innocent plea and he was set for an April 28 trial.
- Rachel Conn, 30, 53 Woodland Drive, Parkersburg, Roxanne Sutton, 31, 914 Fourth Ave., Parkersburg, and Roscoe E. Hazelwood, 33, No. 7 Gatlin St., Ravenswood, were named as codefendants charging them with fraudulent scheme, conspiracy to commit fraudulent scheme, neglect of an elderly person, conspiracy to commit neglect of an elderly person, misappropriation of the assets of an elderly person, conspiracy to commit misappropriation of the assets of an elderly person, grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny from September 2007 to January 2008. Conn's arraignment was continued to 9 a.m. Jan. 30, Sutton pleaded innocent and was set for April 7 trial and a warrant was continued for Hazelwood.
- Joseph Franklin Dornon, 30, lodged in the North Central Regional Jail, Greenwood, was indicted on charges of third-offense DUI and third-offense driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater from February 2008. He pleaded innocent and his trial date was set for March 10.
- Marcus Haile, 21, 2186 Meadowview Drive, Parkersburg, was indicted on charges of breaking and entering and petit larceny from May 2008. He answered the indictment with an innocent plea and he was scheduled for an April 7 trial.
- Scott A. Jalbert, 42, lodged in the North Central Regional Jail, Greenwood,was incited on charges of displaying obscene material to a minor and possessing material depicting a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. After his innocent plea he was set for an April 7 trial.
- Charles Raymond Joy, 38, 1214 1/2 Seventh St., Parkersburg was indicted on two counts of failure to provide notice of registration changes from May through October 2007. He pleaded innocent and was set for April 28 trial.
- Dustin Keel, 25, 1324 Spring St., Parkersburg, was indicted on two counts of delivery of a controlled substance from September 2008. After his innocent plea he was set for a March 3 trial.
- Chad Laplante, 31, 1006 Charles St., Parkersburg, and Lottie Stewart, 24, 7614 Pike St., Lot 7, Parkersburg, were named as codefendants in an indictment charging them with six counts each of fraudulent use of an access device and conspiracy to commit fraudulent use of an access device from December 2007. Laplante did not appear since he is incarcerated in Ohio. Stewart pleaded innocent and her trial was set for March 3.
- Matthew McCoy, 19, 324 Clark St., Belmont, and Stacey McGill, 19, 203 Foothill Road, Davisville, were indicted as codefendants in an indictment charging them with 13 counts of burglary, four counts of petit larceny and one count of grand larceny from February 2008. Since he is incarcerated in Ohio, his arraignment was continued to 9 a.m. Feb. 6.
- David L. Modesitt, 51, 904 Myrtle St., Parkersburg, was indicted on two counts of sexual abuse by a custodian from December 2007. His arraignment was continued to 9 a.m. Jan. 26 to give him time to hire an attorney.
- Timothy Lee Sisson, 34, 203 57th St., Vienna, was indicted on charges of child neglect creating a risk of in jury, possession of a controlled substance and third-offense driving while license revoked from March 2008. He pleaded innocent to the charges and was set for a March 10 trial.
- Wendy Thomas, 31, 1390 Dutch Ridge Road, Parkersburg, was indicted on six counts of fraudulent use of an access device, one count of petit larceny and two counts each of forgery and uttering from August 2007 and August 2008. She pleaded innocent and was set for an April 7 trial.
- Jason Alexander Turner, 26, 3119 Ninth Ave., Parkersburg, was indicted on charges of third-offense DUI, third-offense driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and second-offense driving while license revoked for DUI from February 2008. He pleaded innocent and was set for trial on April 28.
- Stephen Keith Waggoner, 19, 295 Slate Run Road, Belleville, was indicted on charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and petit larceny from February 2008. After his pleas of innocent he was set for a March 10 trial date.
- Matthew Grant White, 24, No. 6 Poplar Drive, Vienna, was indicted on charges of third-offense DUI, third-offense driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more by weight and fleeing from an officer in a vehicle while intoxicated from January 2008 After his pleas of innocent he was set for an April 28 trial date.
