BELPRE - Belpre Police Department has made one arrest and is looking at several juveniles in connection with the vandalism of Christmas decorations throughout the city.

Kenneth Cobb Jr., 19, address unknown, was arrested on a charge of complicity, said Police Chief Ira Walker. Cobb is scheduled to appear in Belpre Mayor's Court this morning.

"Complicity means he aided and abetted in the damage," Walker said.

Walker said two juveniles have been of interest in the same case in which vandals videotaped themselves smashing holiday decorations and mailboxes throughout Belpre and posted the images to the video-sharing Web site YouTube.

Last week, video was discovered on the site with the headline "Christmas Jackass Hitting Christmas Lights." The video also included the tag line "Us Hitting Christmas Lights." A text introduction to the video stated "We Hate Christmas!!!" and included the first and last names of three individuals.

Walker would not say if the juveniles of interest were those named on the Web site with the video.

According to the YouTube Web site, the video has been removed and no link is available.

There have been many cases in the U.S. of individuals filming criminal activity and posting videos on the Internet, but this is the first time such an incident has happened in Belpre, Walker said.
