Edna Mae McCoy, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away Nov. 29, 2008, at her daughter's residence in Parkersburg.
She was born April 10, 1930, in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Mitchell A. and Helen Johnson Nutter. Edna was a member of the Blennerhassett (Marrtown) Church of the Nazarene. She retired from the Wood County Board of Education, where she was a cook.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruth A. McNemar and husband, Harold, of Parkersburg; two sons, Roger L. McCoy and wife, Lois, of Guysville, Ohio, and Randall L. McCoy and wife, Loretta, of Davisville, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Brown of Holt, Mich., and Della Gorrel of Paris, Ohio; one brother, Mitchell Nutter of Canton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Almond Laco McCoy; one great-granddaughter, Claudia Way; one brother, Franklin Nutter; and one sister, Garnet Adams.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Blennerhassett (Marrtown) Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Bob Kniley officiating. Burial will follow in Coolville Cemetery in Coolville, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
