Local candidates file latest financial statementOctober 2, 2008 - By PAMELA BRUSTPARKERSBURG - Wood County sheriff's candidate Jeff Sandy appears to be the biggest spender in the election to date, with expenses totaling $22,835. The first pre-General Election candidate financial reports were due Sept. 22 and covered the reporting period from the time of the last report, which was due May 30. Candidates not receiving and, or spending more than $500 during the reporting period or having no outstanding loans and, or bills could file a waiver. The next pre-General Election financial reports are due Oct. 24. Candidates running for an office that covers only Wood County file in County Clerk Jamie Six's office. Legislative candidates and other candidates running for an office that encompasses more than one county file their financial statements in the West Virginia Secretary of State's office. According to reports filed in Six's office, Sandy reported recent contributions from Ron Stoops, $200; James Stealey, $100; Clark Reese, $100; D.
