Jackson appoints new emergency chief

RIPLEY - Jackson County Commission appointed a new Emergency Operations Chief for the county during its meeting Thursday.

Commission President Don Stephens said Steve McClure, a Cottageville resident who was serving in a similar position in Charleston, was appointed emergency operations chief Thursday. McClure will replace Lori Peterson, who is leaving the position effective Oct. 1.

Commission also reappointed Anna Ocheltree to serve an additional term as member of the Jackson County Housing Authority.
