One hurt in two-vehicle wreck

POSTED: September 3, 2008

PARKERSBURG - One driver was injured and another was cited after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday at Eighth and Market streets.

Sgt. George Fox of the Parkersburg Police Department said the incident occurred around 5 p.m.

A 1994 Buick Century driven by Karen Willey, 48, of Parkersburg was southbound on Market Street and was struck in the intersection at Eighth Street by a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Samantha Conter, 20, Beverly, Ohio, Fox said.

Although there were witnesses to the crash, no one reported knowing who had the green light, Fox said. Officers were unable to determine who was at fault, but Conter was cited for no insurance.

Willey was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

probably cant afford to buy a new car or doesnt make sense to buy new if the explorer is paid off cost difference may not add up. just because you dont have insurance or a new car doesnt make you a bad driver. i dont care who you are

Just because you dont have insurance doesnt mean you are a bad driver. Some people just cant afford the insurance especially in todays economy. Do you think all those cars at the body shops to be fixed are the result of someone else hitting them. no duh!!! Some people have good insurance because they are bad drivers!!!

Let me give you a hint. If one party in an accident did NOT have insurance, THEY were the one who was at fault. Doesn't take a brain surgeon to see the correlation between no insurance and poor driving skills. Duh.
