Thank you for your article on the three Republican and two Democrat delegates from Wood County to the upcoming National Conventions in Monday's paper. I would appreciate the opportunity to expand that listing for the GOP.
At the February GOP Convention Barbara Smith and Greg Smith were elected. During the May primary Tom Azinger was elected a delegate. At the June Summer GOP Convention Rocky Peck, Allen Ross and Robert Smith were elected. Rocky Peck, who is very deserving of going to the convention, has had to temporarily cut back on his activities due to illness. Lewis Rexroad was appointed as his replacement.
The six local members of the West Virginia Delegation are from Vienna, Parkersburg and south Parkersburg. One of every 10 members of the state's delegation of 60 are from Wood County, a strong representation.
