One injured in three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon
PARKERSBURG - One person was injured Monday in a three-vehicle crash at Fifth and Juliana streets.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m., said Patrolman Todd Davis, Parkersburg police. The driver of one of the vehicles, Delmus Hardbarger, 58, of Harrisville was injured in the crash and was cited for running a red light, he said.
Officials said Hardbarger was taken to Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
Hardbarger was driving a 2000 Pontiac Firebird north on Juliana Street when he allegedly ran a red light and was struck by two vehicles in the intersection.
A 1996 GMC 1500 truck driven by Derrick Cline, 26, of Little Hocking was eastbound in the left lane of Fifth Street and was the first to strike the Pontiac, Davis said. A 1998 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Cameron Robinson, 22, of Belpre was in the middle lane of Juliana Street and struck the Pontiac next.
Hardbarger's Pontiac sustained heavy damage. The other two vehicles sustained only moderate damage.
Davis said the street was closed for about 45 minutes while officials cleaned up the scene.
In addition to police officers, the Parkersburg Fire Department responded to the crash.
