The southbound lanes of Interstate 77 was closed Wednesday morning between Ravenswood and Ripley after a truck carrying steel coil lost its load, officials said.
The accident occurred around 3 a.m. when the heavy coils came off the back of the tractor-trailer and landed on the road at the Silverton exit, said Jackson County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Bruce DeWees.
The interstate was cleared by 9 a.m., but both southbound lanes of I-77 remained closed with traffic rerouted to West Virginia 21 and W.Va. 2.
No injuries were reported.

Let me guess northbound on ramp headed toward parkersburg. I came through the day the asphalt truck flipped. Truck drivers just need to slow down lest someone get killed.
