James F. “Jim” Hendershot, 64, of Parkersburg, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late Carl W. and Agnes R. Oney Hendershot.
Mr. Hendershot retired as a supervisor from the former Nashua Photo Co. after 30 years of service. He was an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict with a specialty in aircraft maintenance. Jim had coached girl’s softball, was an avid hunter and a member of the United Game Fowl Breeders Association.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Hendershot; two daughters, Jamie Lynn Barber and Katie Diane Smith, both of Parkersburg; one sister, Delores Dougherty of Williamstown; one brother, Carl W. Hendershot of Waverly; two grandchildren, Drew Nicole Barber and Brandon William James Barber; special friend, Tonya Smith of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews, including Jake Hendershot, Tim, Chris and Patrick Fought, Eric and Jason Dougherty, Donna McGee, Jennifer Young and Denise Bradley.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Regina Newhouse; and one brother, Charles Hendershot.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Evangelist Roger Rush officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
