PARKERSBURG — Nationally known photographer/author Jim Clark will be appearing at several Wood County schools today and Tuesday and will be speaking at West Virginia University-Parkersburg this afternoon.
His visit is sponsored by Wood County Reading Council, said Lois Meadows, a teacher at Emerson Elementary School who arranged Clark’s visit.
Clark’s presentation is titled “Mason Jars and Memories.”
“Jim takes the audience on a seasonal journey through the wild and rugged landscapes of his beloved home state of West Virginia,” Meadows said.
Using the story of the qualities of the Mason jar, Clark invites the audience on a personal journey through the landscape that ignited his passion for nature and life, she said. To end the program, his photography has been synchronized to music by Emmy-award winning composer Gary Malkin and “conveys an emotional sense of place about the seasonal beauty and wonder of the Mountain State.”
