She was the daughter of the late Harry and Bessie (Shears) Watson. She worked for several years at the Elizabeth Dairy Bar, retired after 17 years of service from the Wirt County Board of Education as a cook, was a member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church, Eagles of Parkersburg and the DAV of Parkersburg.
She is survived by her children, Duane (Terri) Edwards of Palestine, Kathy (Kenny) Collions of Freeport, W.Va., Mike (Sabrina) Edwards of Lubeck and Kelly (John) Alastanos of Bridgeport, W.Va.; one brother and two sisters, Harry “Tip” Watson, Phyllis “Curly” Cox and Sharon “Sherry” Corbin, all of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth with the Rev. Don Cunningham officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
