MARMET, W.Va. (AP) — Kanawha County authorities say a man was hit and killed by a train in Marmet.
The Charleston Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1anSS1Z ) that the accident happened about 1:40 p.m. Monday. Kanawha County sheriff's deputies and Marmet volunteer firefighters were on scene.
The man's name will not be released until his family is notified.
The Federal Railroad Administration Office of Safety says nine people have died in pedestrian-train collisions in West Virginia as of August. Two of those incidents occurred in Kanawha County.
