This is great news! I'm glad to hear the CLAIRE E is being restored!

I do want to correct one statement in the article. The boat was not "the first diesel-powered sternwheel towboat to operate on the Ohio River". It is unknown which boat holds that honor, however the 1st sternwheel towboat to come out new, with a diesel engine, was the HARVEY in 1923. When the CLAIRE E was built in 1926 it was named "DIESEL" to help promote the sale & use of diesel engines on the river.
