Nothing like slinging mud at those who disagree with the choice made by the mayor to completely devalue your argument. It's not an issue of education, or lack thereof. Your judgment of someone else's education is laughable, at best. The citizens have every right to question, disseminate, or loudly disagree with an elected leader's choice. It's called a DEMOCRACY for a reason. I'm not saying that Mr. Yeager wouldn't be a suitable replacement, I don't know enough about him yet to determine my opinion. People get promoted to positions all the time based on merit, and someone will always have something to say about that. Having said that, yes, the job still should be posted, and allow Mr. Yeager to apply and go through the motions of being hired for it. Mr. Troll with his new name needs to get off Newell's teat. The man does not walk on water and your constant butt-kissing defense of him, even when it's apparent that a mistake has been made, makes you appear delusional.

Yeager's appointment is necessary to enable Newells inner sanctum to continue its effective operations. Posting a position of this nature to an unknown would threaten the mayors inner sanctum and be disadvantageous to the good citizens of Parkersburg.

The success of development in Parkersburg should be measured in how many good paying, living wage jobs are created ... NOT on how much acreage the city can annex without being able to take care of what they already have!

Once again business as usual in Parkersburg. Instead of searching for the best possible candidate, the folks in city hall already have their "favorite son" lined up for speedy approval. This is why downtown Parkersburg is the way it is ... stuck in the same declining mode it has been stuck in for the past 25 years! Citing BCBS, WVUP and the debacle called the Riverfront Park as all star achievements is pretty hollow. Honestly, the city is extremely lucky that BCBS located downtown and there is now plenty of questions regarding how long they will be there.
