Restoring elk not a simple process

Elk would receive the same warm welcome as deer in the southern coalfields. The only profit would be in selling "Cooking Elk" or other recipes and few if any would make it to adulthood. In the upper mountains, coming around a curve at road speed, hitting one these would equal stone wall in middle of the road. Look what happened with coyotes that were brought in to cull deer herds when they quickly learned that sheep are much easier prey. In 140 years, few people have missed their presence and few would rejoice in their return.
