This is starting to remind me of the adage that there is always time to do something over, but never time to do it right the first time.

It seems to me there was little to no oversight on the part of the BOE on this contract. The Wood County BOE wants a hands off policy so they can't be held accountable. Both Pickering and the Wood County BOE need to be held accountable for this mess. Now one more thing, and I bring this up for a second time. Why is PHS a "priority" when South has been struggling to complete their field for many years? I am a Big Red, but I am a Big Red with clear vision, and not just a red tint. This whole mess is the BOE responsiblity, and it is their responsibility to fix, not the added begging for money and taxing. For what my opinion is worth, fire the principal, the AD, and the coach at PHS and get new leadership that does not hide issues and allow things to get to the point this is.

This is so much Bull that it stinks. Why is it that our tax money to the Wood County BOE is not paying for this. You can't tell me for one minute that the three amigos at PHS (Principal, AD, and football coach) did not know the truth about the condition of the stadium but let it go to force the issue. Also, and here is the kicker, who is responsible for contacts at the Wood County BOE? I have been involved with several remodel and expansion projects, one at a former Shell plant in Apple Grove, WV was $100 million. I have had several other remodels at $2 million. Tell me why there were no safeguards built into the contract with Pickering Associates that would place a penalty on the engineers for cost overruns (read that as a crappy estimate on work needing completed) and also for not having work completed on time. EVERY major company (and the BOE is a company but gets to use freee tax $ instead of earning it themselves) has a fine built into contacts that for every day past 'x' date.
