This is good news, which only confirms my earlier post that my alma mater would be playing football in Stadium Field this season. Thanks!!!

I hope you're right "Guy007"! Even tho I didn't go to PHS, I know it means a lot to the kids that goes there.

Our Wood County community loves its kids and is willing to do anything for them. Whether it be South, PHS or Williamstown, citizens are dedicated to our community/county as a whole. Each of these men are hard working and successful members of our community who truly want the best for everyone's kids. I am proud they are stepping up at the very least to organize more support for this effort. It pains me to think this has gone this far. The stadium issue should never have been a north-south issue, but a kid and community issue, which would have made fixing it simple in that it simply gets done. The things that matter most should never be at the mercy of Things that matter less. With our kids and community being most important, politics should have taken a back seat.

I thought they only needed $200k? Now they're asking for $350k?

Just remember board when excess levy comes up in nov for vote. Vote it down send message schools are more important then board members salaries.

Fatman, did the board members get a big raise? How would voting down the levy help schools and send any messages other that you don't care about education, facilities or any of the many fine employees of the system.

RealityInTheMOV, currently work is only being done on the home side right now. I'm assuming the rest of the money would be used to work on the visitor side.

No it was $350 just to finish the home side - over a million for the other - incredible.

It's their money, so they can waste it any way they want. For $1.8 million, they could have bulldozed the thing and had a brand-new stadium for 2014. But nooooooooooooooo...

MrSmith, I agree with your post, but I don't think PHS would settle for a stadium that "only" cost 1.8 million.

A lot of students Need sports to get scholarships to college not everyone can make 4.0 gpa.board should be responsible to keep sports facility in good shape plus school buildings.we don't need all the people at main office that we have.

There is no excuse that the community cannot raise the amount of money needed to complete the stadium. $350,000 is not that much given proper support from the alumni. It is a shame that PHS supporters and school board let the stadium get in such sad shape in the first place. I have thought for years that the stadium was a blight on the whole neighborhood. I hope not only will the stadium be updated but the entire sport complex needs to be cleaned up and pressured cleaned... fresh paint might not be a bad idea too.

It's good to see community involvement when things like this happen.
