Watching traditions go away

August 4, 2013

Tradition. That is the biggest thing that is going to be lost this fall as construction continues into football season at Stadium Field....

PHS will not lose its traditions for a long, long time. Something good will happen to prevent Stadium Field from being closed, allowing football played there (perhaps not the entire season) this year.

Dude, give it a freaking rest, will you? Bad stuff happens sometimes, and you have to rebuild your old football stadium, losing an entire home season. Life goes on.

Had they listened to ME, they would have protected the turf and bulldozed the entire thing to the ground, losing the 2013 home games. It's a lot cheaper to ship in prefab components and assemble them here than it is to repair the way the way that they have chosen. You'd have a brand new stadium in 2014 for the same price.

P.S. I don't know if you attend any of these games, but as a PHS season-ticket-holder (until this latest debacle with the stadium), I have not seen this "atmosphere" of which you speak in the past 10 years. Bunch of middle school kids walking around inside the stadium, and a bunch of parents who have come to see their kids.

Poor little PHS. Makes my heart break. Couldn't happen to a better school. PHS has always had the BOE to give it everything it needs at the price of other schools. Now it is time to pay the piper. Best news of the year.
