The vendors need to form their own organization, with the guidance and expertise of other successful markets, and lease/rent the space. These markets can be quite an asset to many communities.

How about putting the Farmer's Market somewhere a little more accessable. Everything in Parkersburg doesn't have to be crammed in one area with poor access. What about the lot where Ralph's once stood? Oh wait that won't work, it's on Southsie.

As for employees at Point Park. How many people are employed by the Parkersburg Public Works? And I'd say they are payed more than minimum wage! Wouldn't you?

We wouldn't even have the Downtown Farmers Marketplace, if it wasn't for Mayor Newell!

And nobody nuked Mayor Newell! The people in Parkersburg should be thankful he came along when he did!

we were going to have a civic center until newell screwed it up by trying to bully a General. The General then nuked him.

The farmers market has been just a publicity stunt. Only in Parkersburg could it be. Some cities have civic centers; river walks; theme parks; theaters...we have a limited use farmers market. Now they want to hire a new city employee to manage it..what a waste of taxpayer money! Maybe No Renewell could have the baseball players of the new minor league baseball team "THE PARKERSBURG PHANTOMS" manage it during off hours.

Only the city could turn a vegetable stand into such a big deal.

Mayor Newell said. "We are going to have to set up a non-profit board and a permanent manager. It is too much of an undertaking to be run by committee." And I think that's a good idea, it is to much undertaking to be run by a committee.
