Phoenix, taxpayer money isn't the sole source of income for the regional jails. Example: When you pay a fine in Wood county, out of $160 court costs in Magistrate court, $40 goes to the regional jail. By the way, the court costs were 33 times the amount of the fine.

Idiots,, just idiots.. Hey I have an idea.. Just keep giving money to every "Tom, Dick and Harry" that pops his head in the door of the Commissioners office and says.. " Hey you want my vote next term, well then give me some money" and, while you're at it.. Screw your employees once again! After is the employees that come to work everyday and actually run the county, not the 3 idiots that come once or maybe 2x's a week. better yet, keep giving some Supervisors a vehicle to drive to work, pay for their gas, their insurance, their cell phones.. etc etc.. do this while the poor working stiff is having trouble putting gas in their tank, or buying groceries or medicine.. yep.. they are idiots.. We need to wipe the slate clean and get people in office that actually know what they are doing and stop playing with people.

Well they only miscalculated by 23% which isn't that bad for the Wood County Clerk's office.

You should be happy about the home confinement "clients" Geezer. Those people actually owe that money. Inmates at the regional are subsisting on the tax payer's dime.

Some tax payers really get reamed because not only does their money go to pay for incarcerated inmates, but they are helping someone on home confinement pay their "fees" as well. Then, when city employees get undeserved raises and city or county emplyees have their hands in the till. it's time to bend over yet further.

"Our county has become so dependent on revenue generated by criminals and drug addicts that we now refer to them as 'clients'." - Sorry, but it's their county too. The Law provided for punishment and they are paying or have paid for their crimes. What would you rather call them? Corpses?- after a public linching in town square?

No one ever said what happened to the thousands of $ "lost" by the sheriff's dept. a couple of years ago. Maybe they should check to see if any more people are running a tab on their county credit cards too.
