Buy 'American', you say? Better get rid of your appliances. There are no manufacturers of televisions in the United States. Nearly all computers and telephones are made in foreign countries. Better get rid of that air conditioning unit, too.

Buy 'American', you say? Keep in mind that Asian countries are the largest consumers of West Virginia's valuable 'met coal', the type of coal that is used to produce steel. Metallurgical coal sells for a much higher price than other types of coal, thus generating more severance tax revenues for the citizens of the state.

Instead of shopping 'locally' at a store with a limited selection and restricted hours of business that pays its employees minumum wage, I purchase everything I can from Amazon, a company that supports the US Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, and other companies that pay their employees a living wage. Including benefits, your local UPS driver makes $56 per hour which he or she spends 'locally'. A person making minimum wage has no extra cash and qualifies for 'welfare' type support, thus draining the the revenue of the 'local' community.

I applaud this type of program, however, I would also encourage the organizers to add an additional reward for the purchase of AMERICAN MADE ITEMS. This would be an added instinctive for person's to participate. I already BOYCOTT Walmart because of their poor record of employee pay and the exploitation of imported products that are produced in countries that enslave their employees....
