Great story. An article like this in the Columbus, Cleveland or Pittsburgh media would not just draw amateur astronomers but would draw the attention of 'city folks' to the other attributes of the region. Tourism officials sometimes get carried away with promoting economic investments and don't emphasize our natural attractions, like peace and quiet.
