southgrad, Was it not built as a sports complex rather than a football complex. So what if he had a child playing soccer that year. Are you saying soccer is not just as honorable a sport as football. Get over your nit picking and focus on what is best for the kids. Rather than how your feelings were hurt because of what was the first type of sport played there.

Toehead, I to spent numerous hours at Erickson volunteering my time also. As a matter of fact my name is on the plaque with the people that donated over 1,000 at the time.

I never once said he didnt do any work to help with the Erickson Project. I simply stated that the "Football Stadium" should have seen its first use as for what it was intended for a Football game. We waited for 28 years or so for a Home field at I feel strongly still after all these years that a Football game should have been played before a Soccer Match. But I say again he did have a kid playing Soccer at that time.

southgrad, your an ingrate...after all of the work Mr.Bush did to make Erickson stadium a reality, you should be ashamed of yourself. Mr. Bush and many others donated many hours of their time and effort for the betterment of Parkersburg South High School and Parkersburg. To be criticized about something as trivial as what was the first game played there is insane.

As big of a South fan I cant help but remember what Mr. Bush did when Erickson Field opened. Instead of what "should" have been the first sporting event at Erickson meaning a Football game it was decided and I am sure Mr. Bush had all the say so in the matter but inatead of a football game being the first event there it was a Soccer match that took place. Oh did I fail to mention he had a kid that played soccer that year.
