This law really needs to be enforced. Many drivers continue to text messages while driving. I see them texting while driving everyday. Distract driving has the same affect as impaired driving. No cell phone should be used while driving.

I hope this is enforced. I am sick of these people who can't put their stupid phone down for a minute. And of they kill someone, oh gee, they didn't mean to. And AaronS, come on. 100% of cops are always distracted? :)

We all have to accept the fact that we ourselves CAN be distracted; & be alert for it.

Yesterday I was listening to the news on FM radio & the signal got weak so it was difficult to hear. A moment later I realized I had withdrawn part of my attention from the road, to focus on figuring out what was being said.

No, nothing happened while my attention shifted -- not this time. But if you don't recognize you're doing it, it can get you sometime.

The only problem I have with these laws is that LEO's aren't bound by them. If you pass 100 cops, 93 will have a cell phone plastered to their ear. The other 7 are either texting or on the computer.
