Article 2, Section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution states the President "shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur;"

The President is well within his Constitutional rights to make treaties.

Senator Brown and his fellow Senators are within their Constitutional rights to vote on each and every one. I applaud Senator Brown for not wanting to relinquish his authority on this issue. If Congress would get back to their responsibilities, we as a nation would be much better off.

The United States is a Bicameral Republic, not a Democracy or a Monarchy. Our Founding Fathers chose this method of government so that we would have checks and balances in the manner our government is conducted. Legend has it that Washington explained to Jefferson the reason for 2 chambers was to allow legislation to ‘cool’ off and not pass in haste.

The Paranoia of the Right Wing again rears it's ugly head. Our economy is improving, unemployment is dropping, the DOW has reached record high levels. This is unacceptable..... He has ended one war, and quickly winding down the other. Thus far he has resisted the SCREAMS and RANTS from the Right Wing to enter yet another war, {SYRIA}.... Obama's economic policies are working, slowly but surely. The OBSTRUCTIONIST POLICY of the RIGHT WING CONGRESS has miserably failed. Hillary is on the horizon, and more people have freedom's and equality today than at any other time in our history. November, 2014 is rapidly approaching and I predict an record setting victory for the Democrats to take control of this nation. An excellent example occurred yesterday in TEXAS, with the Women's Movement and their right to control their own body.

I find it ironic that any Congressman should want to deny President Obama "fast track" authority regarding trade agreements. If Congress has the final say when it comes to accepting treaties then we will end up with none. Congress has lost is power or will to make any decision about anything. Congress has shown itself to be lazy, incompetent and greedy for taking a huge salary, and yet does little on behalf of the citizens of this country. Congress is shameful!!

"If Congress has the final say when it comes to accepting treaties then we will end up with none."

Do you not know the Constitution? Congress doesn't have a say. The President negotiates treaties but they are required by the Constitution to be ratified by the Senate. We are not a Monarchy; one man does not retain the power to govern.

Thank God.
