Unless you are a native Indian born in the U.S.A. with your true American culture, the rest of the citizens possess multi-cultural traits, mainly from Europe,Africa and the Orient in the past, and Hispanic countries recently.

Perhaps it's your close-minded ignorance that is ruining "the traditional American way."

smokemifyagotem, Looks like you do not know why this country came in to existence. I always thought it was to escape an oppressive government that even controlled the religion that you were to believe in.

smokemifyagotem, The American tradition has always been multicultural. America has alway invited people of different cultures to come and be part of our country. That is the unique characteristics of our country. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your roots along with being proud of be American.

What is uniquely "American", is (or was) our ability to accept and adapt, unique cultural aspects, from disparate cultures that have come to the USA. There was a time when the Scottish, Irish, and Germans, were thought of as interlopers in the "traditional American way". I'm a "filthy lib" veteran who spent 6 years defending your right to voice your opinion. Some food for thought: When a group of people are closed to outsiders, to preserve their "culture", they inevitably become inbred.
