The PPD is worse. I know someone they zip-tied, pepper sprayed, threw on the railroad tracks and left. VPD used to be a lot worse, but they aren't as physical as they used to get.

It is amazing how well law enforcement can deal with these kinds of people when they have a gun and pepper spray. Back when I was in school with a couple of the Vienna police they would have pee'd their pants if you would have said boo to them. What a world!

Back in the day Weigle would have spanked both Pifer and Ingram and set them on top of their patrol cars crying for mommy.

Jim Weigle has been a reputable buisnessman in Parkersburg area for many years. I commend him for standing firm with an egotistical overbearing police officer. There is no 69 year old man who deserves to be physically smashed over their vehicle. Our community would be better off without this type of protection.

I would like to salute Joyce Purkey for recusing herself even though she was not required to. Certain members of the US Supreme Court have refused to recuse themselves from cases involving spouses and sons (Thomas and Scalia) because they weren't required to. Congratulations to Ms. Purkey for having a better sense of true justice.

Too much being made of this....just because one is a "Facebook Friend" with someone, doesn't mean they are REAL friends. I am friends with many people on Facebook that I haven't met, including law enforcement, government officials and so on.

This seems like a good move to me. Will save any speculation down the road.
