What a bunch of crock! Where is God in all this? Bribing the gullible into coming to church! Do these folks think their critters have souls or what? Another black eye for the Kingdom of God.

gingr55, who left you in charge to pass judgement. Some of the goals of the Church are to draw people in and save souls. I don't think God set up a list of rules on how to do it, he just commanded that it be done. And the Lord opened the mouth of the a s s . Black Marks on the Kingdom of God come from lack of knowledge in people like you that pass judgement on the one's that are doing the work of the Lord. So what they had an event that involved being kind to animals, good for them!

Sad, but many of these are the same type of people that oppose OBAMACARE for unfortunate poor humans. I wonder how many times they have had a FREE health care event for the homeless???

@Democrats: I would be willing to bet you have NEVER helped organize a free clinic for any type of medical care. Sit and sniff at those who try, so sad.

'@gingr55: Read the comment by 'Rakeer'. Animals suffer real pain and fear. How do YOU know that they don't have a soul? I don't know, but I won't say absolutely they don't.

Why don't the animal haters just shut up, and leave the animal lovers alone? To each his own.

Who are the animal HATERS? Some of the goals of the Church are to draw people in and save souls. RAKEER, you forgot THE ULTIMATE GOAL to make $$$$ money. And attack human rights with their hate and discrimination. At the same time, THUMPING THEIR BIBLE, and SCREAMING JESUS LOVES YOU.

Gingr, did you know that dogs are saving our Military from the stress of dealing with PTSD? There is a documentary out now about how these " Critters" you call them are being trained to help our Military. These guys would tell you differently.

You can rent the DVD it is called " Sheltered" I know because my dog helps me become more calm, so why not give them some help back?

@Democrats: What are you thumping on when you spew your hate? I have seen it in many of your posts. Pot calling the kettle black in my book!

Social it is not HATE that I spew. It's disgust, disgust with HYPOCRACY. Disgust with the DO-GOODERS, that will pat themselves on the back for taking care of a DOG and at the same time will SNUB their UPPITY nose at POOR HUMANS. Disgust with the GOLDEN TEMPLES that they regularly attend on Sunday Mornings, wearing the new NAME-BRAND outfit, trying to outdo each other. Disgust that they will HATEFULLY, DENY HEALTH CARE to the poor. I have a friend that is currently dying of terminal Cancer. Cancer that was curable had she had Health Care for the past 5 years. ONLY NOW, that she TERMINAL is she receiving treatment and drugs. YES, I AM DISGUSTED....

@Democrats: it is ok to be disgusted with people who act like that. However, it is wrong to assume and label people without prior knowledge. Nothing in this article states that they snubbed insurance for people. NOTHING. You started your rant without knowing anything about these people and what they do in this world to help their fellow mankind. It was a simple clinic to help people with pets, not to shut the door on chronically ill people.

And isn't it prejudice to "lump" all churchgoers in the same category? You would probably scream and holler if someone did it to any other group, class or race.

Social, You are 100% right. I know nothing about this particular church. However, if you read my post again, you will see that I am addressing all CHURCHES in GENERAL. Because an overwhelming "MANY" of them are Right Wing, hate filled, political organizations. A Right Wing CONGRESS, supported by these so called ""CHRISTIANS" that has now tried 37 times to repeal healthcare for ALL. This is not an attack on this church, it is an attack on HOLIER-THAN-THOU Right Wing hypocrites....

Funny thing, when I go looking to help a family in need, I cannot turn to a liberal organization. I turn to the churches who gladly give even though they do not know the family in need, they just understand that there is a need. And that is any denomonation that I approach.

I believe the animals were also created by God. What is the harm of a church helping provide a venue for animals to receive a rabies vaccine and/or a microchip? If they pick up new parishioners so be it. If not they have done something for some people and their pets in the community.

There is no harm in providing aid and assistance for animals. But, I would bet a {100 to 1} that many of these same people have supported the movement to deny health care to humans. The Radical Christian Right Wing has supported and encouraged the Imbecilic Republican Dominated Congress to vote 37 times now to destroy Obamacare. The Hypocrites make me want to PUKE, with their Jesus love and christian values.

Do any of you folks who disagree with helping the animals and their owners ever stop to consider that the animals too, have rights in this world? The animals bring more love to people than any church or the majority of people on this earth.

Odd. If a friend of mine had cancer for five years , I might have organized some fund raisers, or called every advocacy group in the book till some form of help was found. To idly sit by and let a friend slowly succumb to a deadly disease and blame the government for not coming to the rescue is totally absurd. Maybe the person should have disavowed being American and then our government would have swooped in and saved them at whatever cost? Maybe some friends mean more than others?
