Perhaps the Air National Guard could provide controllers to at least the airports that military units utilize.

Glad to be flying back in on May 5th...it will likely be the last time I use that airport.

The cut is in growth of the budgets. Still have more money than last fiscal year, just not as much as wanted. If inflation is so low why would they crumble when actually getting more? Never let a crisis go to waste.

Have you noticed that each agency (FAA, Parks, etc.) seems to be choosing the most visible way to cut back? A 5% budget cut means a cut to 1/3rd of our towers? Get real - cut some of the managers in Washington. I can hear it now when there is an accident ..."We didn't have any choice in the matter. Those mean guys in Congress made us cut." But you DID have a choice, Obama!

Aircraft operators will need to sharpen their skills or only fly into controled airports. I started flying at a grass strip in a Cessna 120 tail dragger. Worked my way into owning 6 more aircraft including 2 twins, and never had a problem with uncontrolled airspace. Towers only slowed me down, and made me lazy because they lead you around like a dog on a leash. The problem comes when an operator has only been instructed to fly in controlled airspace. They never learned to fly and enjoy flying. Talk or walk at uncontrolled airports. Your life may depend on it.

As the US continues its slow burn into the abyss, Barrackus Husseinius Onero fiddles around the planet still campaigning for the job he won twice.

Maybe our fine Congressman David Mckinley will do something to keep it open!! Sending out mail is something he seems to be good at.
