You would think our Legislatures would have more important things to do, then to worry about if somebody votes straight-ticket or not. Like how are they going to come up with the funding for our highways and bridges.
What business is it of anybody how somebody votes and who they vote for. I know of people that already have made up their minds, before they go in the booth to vote. And yes they are informed voter. Why waste their time and all the people behind them going down the list and checking off each and ever one them. But if that's what you went to do, go for it! But don't try and tell me, or anybody else how to vote. Remember the Constitution? It gives you the right to vote, not how to vote!

Third parties could be the biggest beneficiaries. Mountain Party & Libertarian Party can't field a full slate so nobody marks straight-ticket for them. Force voters to go through the cafeteria line, 3rd party voting could go way up. Is that what you're afraid of, denver?
Straight ticket voters are extremely closed minded. No party has a monopoly on integrity, knowledge, or good ideas. Some of these people still think they are voting for FDR. I will never forget the fear of my grandparents when Eisenhower was elected. They were sure there would be another depression if any Republician became president. This was after Democratic leaders had courted Ike to be a Democrat.

Actually, there is nonplace in the Constitution that guarantees the right to vote as it was NEVER considered a right by our Founding Fathers.
Subsequent Amendments have held that voting cannot be denied due to race or gender but they've never established the right to vote.
